Mirror & Pins

Find the object distance from the angle the light turns through

Aim a ray at the mirror from a fixed pin, five times, hitting the mirror line a little further along each time. Trace each reflected ray with two more pins and measure the angle between the incident and the reflected ray. Plot the position along the mirror against tan(θ/2); the gradient is how far the object pin stands from the mirror.
