Cylinder

Find the bore of a test tube without measuring it

Pour a hundred cubic centimetres into a measuring cylinder and write the figure down. Then pour water across into a test tube to a series of depths, reading what is left in the cylinder each time. Plot the volume remaining against the depth; the line falls, and its gradient is the bore of the tube.
