Guided
Chop the onion finely with the scalpel
Put the chopped onion into the beaker
Pour in the salt and detergent solution
Stand the beaker in the water bath at 60 °C
Leave it fifteen minutes
Lift the beaker out and pour the mixture through the filter paper into the test tube
Lift the funnel out of the tube and stand it in the empty beaker
Pour ice-cold ethanol slowly down the side of the tube, so it floats on top
Hold the tube still and watch where the two layers meet
Lower the glass rod into the tube and turn it to wind up the strands
Record what you see
